Oto spojrzenie na brytyjski wolontariat

It has been assessed, that about 25- 40% of the population in the UK take part in a voluntary work each year. According to a research conducted in 9 European countries, only Sweden and Holland have a higher rating.
Moreover, the Volunteer Information KIT 1995 states, that around 23 million of Britons participate in any volunteering works every year. Most of them are engaged in various fields, reaching from sport, recreation through mature education and health to broadly understand social care. Additionally, it has been estimated that around 30-40% of volunteers are males.
In the Annual Report 1997-1998 undertaken by Dudley Council for Voluntary Service shows that 26,7% of employed people is involved in volunteering, unemployed 24,3% while students 21,4%.
The rest are teenagers and old age pensioners. The figures speak for themselves 63% of volunteers are professionally active and 45% of this 63% are in full-time employment. Most of the volunteers declare taking part in social life as well as harmony with objectives of the company they have decided to work for as a motivation of doing so. Satisfaction and exposed results of their work is what they appreciate most.
